Are you one of the thousands of people who think that just "going for a run" is getting you into optimal shape?
Instead of low intensity steady state (LISS) cardio, try high intensity interval training (HIIT) for two main reasons:
1. HIIT will burn more calories. Of course, during your actual activity you're burning more Callie's with LISS (you just have more time to do it), but the change in your metabolism from HIIT will help you burn up to five times the calories over the next couple of days.
2. HIIT helps you maintain your balance, alignment, and structure, while low intensity sets you up for potential overuse injuries. Running for miles and miles sets the stage for imbalance because you're doing the same thing over and over again.
